The much loved Food Lovers marquee will be returning in 2019 but with a twist…this year, celebrity chef Matt Golinski will be hosting the demonstrations and working with some of the region’s best home cooks. Each demonstration will feature a family recipe and seasonal ingredients. Best of all, you’ll learn a few tips and tricks to take home along with a recipe card from the demonstration! With a cooking style influenced from the fusion of Fijian and Indian cuisines, Sashi creates a mecca of delicious, wholesome home cooked meals. Sashi enjoys making her own spices blends, pastes and sauces to use in recipes. For Sashi, cooking means back to basics – making meals from fresh ingredients and using fresh spices. As such, she has created her own range of blends and simple recipes that have been learnt and experienced through generations. Her family business, FlavourBITES, introduces home-style spice blends that are freshly ground and packed locally so that the aromas and flavours of the spices are fully enjoyed. FlavourBITES uses 100% natural ingredients that are all preservative free and of premium quality. In 2011 Cecilia “CC” Diaz-Petersen established CC’s Kitchen in Maryborough. A taste of CC’s handmade products of jams, chutneys, relishes and sauces takes you back in time – a time before preservatives and artificial colourings and flavourings. The majority of the produce that goes into making these products is grown by her husband, Farmer Greg, at their Petersen’s Farm. CC is known for her love of rosellas (hibiscus) and makes over 20 rosella products – they’re worth checking out!

Matt Golinski is a highly regarded, professional chef with a passion for creating cuisine using fresh, seasonal and local ingredients. Well known as one of the original team members of the popular ‘Ready Steady Cook’ television series, Matt has worked as executive chef at some of Queensland’s leading restaurants and founded his own catering company. Based on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Matt now enjoys working as a consulting chef to restaurants, being a regular guest chef at festivals and events and writing his popular food columns and blog. He is also an active member of the Slow Food movement and a motivational speaker. Since 2015 Matt has been helping the Gympie Region promote itself as a world-class food destination in his role as their Food and Culinary Tourism Ambassador. He uses his knowledge of the area and it’s producers to showcase the region through cooking demonstrations and his blog “Matt Eats Gympie”. In March 2018, Matt joined the Peppers Noosa Resort team as their Consultant Executive Chef, developing menus that consolidate his knowledge and love of the producers of his region. Matt spends a couple of days a week in the kitchen at Peppers creating new seasonal recipes, so if you’re in for breakfast, lunch or dinner be sure to poke your head into the kitchen and say hi.

Sherrie Gabler & Shawn Anderson
Deldora Delights is a local food van and catering business by Sherrie Gabler & Shawn Anderson, locals to Childers. Sherrie & Shawn enjoy creating tasty, wholesome meals using locally grown and sourced ingredients that are naturally gluten free and dairy free – providing something for everyone. The duo will travel up to a 500km radius to be a part of many events and most enjoy private function catering where they have the opportunity to put a more personal touch on their services. With a new Deldora Delights van, they offer anything from burgers and fries to a full sit down spit roast meal with all of the trimmings.
